Service Items
1. Flat Rate Online Database
Service
The online database service, provided
by the Research and Evaluation Center
of Chinese Social Science to certain
institutions, allows all members of
a particular institution to access the
CSSCI database and use any computer
at any time linked to the institution’s
Intranet with allowable IP addresses.
Clients simply need to click the “IP
Login” on the website to use the service.
- How do I subscribe?
OPTION A:
If you are to use our data in a long
time, you can choose Option A. The Option
A item need you subscribe all years
database (1998-2004). Once you subscribe
all years data, the next year, you only
need pay the fee of the latest data
and you can access all data of our database
including the data before. If you don’t
pay the fee of the latest data, you
will lose all the authority of using
our data.
OPTION B:
Option B need you subscribe all years
data (1998-2004) for one year. Once
the agreement is expired, you need re-subscribe
all years data.
OPTION C:
If you choose Option C, you can subscribe
one year or several years data. Once
you subscribe the latest data, the next
year, you can also access all data you
subscribed before. If you don’t pay
the fee of the latest data, you will
lose all the authority of using our
data.

2. Online Inquiry Service
Online inquiry service applies to clients
who don’t subscribe to the ‘Flat Rate
Online Database Service’. They can get
access to the CSSCI database online
by using their accounts.
The detailed service items and fees
are listed as follows:
1) Clients who use this service should
pay the fee in advance to the center.
The prepaid fee will be deducted along
with the number of inquiries, till it
decreases to zero; if there is a balance
after an inquiry, it will be saved for
the next inquiry.
2) The charge for each question-answer
inquiry request (one index term per
inquiry) is ￥5; the fees for the search
results are: record of source article
￥0.10/piece, the cited reference ￥0.30/piece,
related reference ￥0.30/piece.
3. Requested Inquiry Service
Clients can authorize the Research and
Evaluation Center of Chinese Social
Science to inquire the CSSCI database
through the Requested Inquiry Service.
The center will provide an inquiry report.
The detailed service items are as follows:
1) Clients can inquire about the number
of published articles, the number of
times being cited, and its ranking information:
① Clients can place an order to inquire
about the number of published articles
and ranking information in a certain
area, an institution or a discipline.
② Clients can also inquire about the
number of published papers, the ranking
information of the papers, the times
being cited and citation ranking for
a certain author.
The detailed service items and fees
are listed as follows:
1) A fee of ￥30 is charged for each
“inquiry report” issued by the Research
and Evaluation Center of Chinese Social
Science, Nanjing University.
2) Inquiry about the number of published
articles, the number of times being
cited and ranking information:
① Requested inquiry for the number of
published articles and ranking information
for a certain area, an institution or
a discipline.
The inquiry about the number of published
articles by a certain area, an institution
and a discipline: ￥100/year per item.
The inquiry for ranking information
of published articles by a certain area,
an institution and a discipline: ￥50/year
per item.
② Requested inquiry of a certain author
for the number of articles published,
article ranking, the number of times
being cited and citation ranking:
The inquiry about the number of published
articles: ￥20/year
The inquiry about ranking information
of published articles (ranked by discipline):
￥20/year
The inquiry about the times of article
being cited: ￥30/year
The inquiry about the ranking of citation
(ranked by the discipline): ￥30/year
③ If detailed information is needed
for the above inquiries, an extra fee
will be charged:
The inquiry about the number of published
articles: ￥2/piece
The inquiry about citation: ￥3/piece
3) The influential factor or ranking
information of the number of citations
of journals:
① The influential factor of journals：￥50/year；
② The influential factor of journals,
ranked by the discipline：￥50/year；
③ The number of times being cited of
the journal：￥50/year；
④ The number of times the journal being
cited, ranked by the discipline：￥50/year；
4) A service agreement is needed for
other specific services; the price will
be based on the detailed requirements
of the service.
4. Cell Phone Inquiry Service
The ‘Cell Phone Inquiry Service’ allows
China Mobile users to get access to
the CSSCI database by sending short
messages. Currently, individual publication
information, citation information and
related information between 1998 and
2004 are available for this service.
The inquiry includes the number of
papers published (code: 21), detailed
information about published papers (code:
211), the number of times being cited
(code: 22), information of articles
that cite these papers (code: 221),
and information of references within
these papers (code: 222). The inquirer
can send a short message “codename”
to 950092 to get the information, if
needed.

Notes:
1. There is no space between code and
name. The number after “，” is the order
number. There are commas between sequence
number and name and between sequence
numbers.
2. The sequence number indicates the
sequence number of the inquired article
of all the published articles or cited
articles. For example, “211 Zhang, 2”
means to inquire about the detailed
information of the second article published
by Zhang; “222 Zhang，2，2”means to inquire
the detailed information of the second
citation in the second cited article
of Zhang’s published articles.
